Display Rules
Display Rules let you show the right bar to the right customers at the right time.
Placement
Section titled “Placement”Choose how the bar is embedded in your storefront:
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Announcement bar (fixed top) | Sticks to the top of the viewport. Always visible as customers scroll. |
| Announcement bar (fixed bottom) | Sticks to the bottom of the viewport. |
| Inline section block | Placed as a Shopify section inside a page — use the theme editor to position it. |
Device targeting
Section titled “Device targeting”| Option | Who sees the bar |

| All devices | Everyone |
| Desktop only | Customers on laptops and desktops |
| Mobile only | Customers on phones and tablets |
Page targeting
Section titled “Page targeting”Restrict the bar to specific page types:
- All pages
- Home page
- Cart page
- Product pages
- Collection pages
- Custom pages
Customer tag targeting
Section titled “Customer tag targeting”Show the bar only to customers who are logged in and have a specific tag.
Example use cases:
- Show a lower threshold for wholesale customers (
wholesale) - Exclude VIP customers who already get free shipping (
vip-member)
Leave this field empty to show the bar to all visitors including guests.
